Scott Richard Karp

Mr. Karp has over 20 years of accounting experience and is a partner of SE Forensic Accountants, LLC, a firm specializing in business valuations, forensic accounting and litigation support.

Since June, 2014, his focus has been forensic accounting. He has served as an expert witness and has testified in both family law and civil litigation matters. Scott provides litigation support in cases involving family law matters, civil litigation, bankruptcy, fraud investigations and criminal matters. Due to his background as a corporate controller, he continues to provide accounting consulting services. He has extensive experience with financial statement analysis and is an expert user with Microsoft Excel. He routinely educates other accounting and legal professionals on methods to effectively mine client data using Excel. Mr. Karp is trained in collaborative law and is a Florida Supreme Court Family Law Mediator.

Prior to becoming a forensic CPA, he worked as a Controller for both publicly traded and privately-held companies. Additionally, he was the interim CFO for the US division of a NASDAQ traded company, headquartered in South Africa. During his time as a Controller, he focused on profit maximization and improvement of the internal control environment. He has successfully implemented new accounting software as part of an effort to improve financial reporting. He began his career at Grant Thornton as an auditor and later as a senior consultant in the business advisory group, performing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance analysis.

Second Saturday Workshops

The Second Saturday workshop, is held every month on the second Saturday of the month except December. It is designed to help participants explore the legal, financial, and family / emotional issues and gain a greater understanding of the process. The workshop consists of segments that are taught by a family law attorney, a financial professional and a therapist.

When you participate ion our workshop you are going to hear extremely valuable information on how to prepare yourself for divorce or separation, the different options such as mediation or collaboration and the overall costs and time frames.
